Sektor provides a number of Point of Sale (POS) to terminal interface and integration options for the VeriFone terminal and PIN pad range on both Paymark and ENZ switches.

The VeriFone terminal solutions for POS integration help merchants simplify and streamline critical aspects of their payment operations providing benefits to both the merchant and cardholder. Faster and more accurate EFTPOS transactions eliminate operator keying errors and card holder wait times at POS. Enhanced productivity is achieved by simplifying end of day EFTPOS and POS sales reconciliation processes.

Paymark Connected Solutions

The VeriFone range in New Zealand has been architected on one comprehensive payment application that can operate with both interfaced and integrated software applets compatible with all VeriFone hardware models that support IP and Dial connectivity. The benefit of the VeriFone payment architecture is in allowing merchants to start with a stand-alone terminal and remotely load either the V-Link or Vault software interface applets to affect an interfaced or integrated solution at a later date.

Key differences between a VeriFone interfaced or integrated solution for the Paymark switch are:

V-Link Interfaced solution:
(1 Way)

POS sends dollar value of transaction to EFTPOS terminal;
POS can then start next transaction, there is no wait for an accepted or declined response.

V-Link Interfaced solution:
(2 Way with or without POS printing)

POS sends dollar value of transaction to EFTPOS terminal;
POS validates transaction with accepted or declined response from EFTPOS terminal;
Option of printing the EFTPOS receipt on the POS printer.

Vault Integrated solution:

POS effectively has full contrl of EFTPOS terminal;
All EFTPOS transactions are fully integrated with POS providing:
- Accepted or declined responses;
- POS printed receipts;
- Full operator EFTPOS dialogs;
- EFTPOS card types reporting;
- EFTPOS administration functions.
Vault Library software resident on the POS as part of the POS/ terminal interface.

ENZ Connected Solutions

ENZ offer both one-way (POSLink) and two-way (POSLink2) interfaces with a variety of POS systems

POSLink One-way Interface (POSLink)

The POSLink one-way interface allows merchants to directly connect an EFTPOS terminal to their Point of Sale (POS) system or Electronic Cash Register (ECR) – removing the need to re-enter the purchase amount into the EFTPOS terminal.

The POS/ECR sends a simple one way message to the EFTPOS terminal containing the EFTPOS transaction value. The cardholder then selects their account and proceeds as normal to complete their transaction. The customer receipt is printed via the EFTPOS terminal once the transaction is completed. The operator will be required to acknowledge the transaction outcome on the EFTPOS terminal and if approved, tender off the POS transaction.

POSLink Two-way Interface (POSLink2)

The POSLink two-way interface allows merchants to directly connect an EFTPOS terminal to their Point of Sale (POS) system or Electronic Cash Register (ECR) – removing the need to re-enter the purchase amount into the EFTPOS terminal.

The POSLink two-way interface enables the merchants POS/ECR to send a simple two way message to the EFTPOS terminal containing the EFTPOS transaction value. The cardholder then selects their account and proceeds as normal to complete their transaction.

Prompts will be displayed on the POS advising the operator of the current cardholder operation e.g. AWAITING ACCOUNT, AWAITING PIN, PROCESSING NOW, etc

The terminal will send a response message back to the POS advising of the transaction outcome. If the transaction is approved, the POS will automatically complete the transaction.

The customer receipt is printed via the EFTPOS terminal once the transaction is completed.
