Vault Overview

Vault redefines integrated payment technology and is the perfect solution for merchants wanting the sophistication of a fully integrated payment solution but without the complexity associated with PC based integrated payment.

No longer do merchants wanting an integrated payment application have to accept that the payment application must reside on the POS PC. With the VeriFone terminal range having 12MB of memory and the capability to communicate via IP, the old drivers that required payment applications to be PC based are now gone. VeriFone is leading the way in delivering advanced payment applications that have the simplicity of being terminal based.

All EFTPOS functions, including EFTPOS dialogs, receipt printing, log on, settlement, and other EFTPOS administration functions are controlled and launched via the POS software.

Vault is deployable on a range of VeriFone terminals or with a VeriFone Vx810 PIN pad only device. Connection of the VeriFone hardware to the POS is a direct IP connection into the POS LAN.

Vx810 PIN pad
The VeriFone Vx810 PIN pad, when used with Vault, provides an elegant stylish all-in-one solution. Merchants seeking integrated payment no longer need to have an EFTPOS software application deployed on the POS PC as well as a separate PIN Pad device for card reading. The Vx810 PIN Pad holds the payment and Vault applications and manages all card reading, cardholder PIN entry and the communications with the Paymark switch.

Paymark Certified
Vault has General Release on the Paymark network only. Software Development Kits (SDK’s) are available for POS vendor to download from the Sektor Payments web site.

Network Connectivity Options
A Vault lane uses a single IP connection to communicate with Paymark and the POS solution. For additional communications redundancy (outside of the standard options around IP comms), the use of a VEAC provides dial backup for multiple lanes in a single store should there be an IP outage.  Dial access is a completely alternative route to Paymark from IP and an extremely reliable connectivity option as is used by the bulk of the stand alone terminals in the New Zealand market.  A single VEAC is installed as an IP device on the store POS network and all Vault lanes are configured to automatically switch to dial when there is no IP connection available.
